The series was succeeded by Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS, which premiered in Japan on May 10, 2017. A manga adaptation by Naohito Miyoshi began serialization in Shueisha's V Jump magazine in August 2015. The series breaks mold of the previous Yu-Gi-Oh! series entrees by expanding on all types of summoning mechanics besides the newly introduced one, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the franchise, which occurred during Arc-V's run. The series is licensed outside Japan by Konami Cross Media NY and launched internationally in 2015. The series aired in Japan on TV Tokyo from Apto March 26, 2017.
